The Issue: Immigration Matters – Senate Bill 76
The Indiana Senate is working on a bill that would have extremely negative consequences for Indiana’s educational institutions, law enforcement, our immigrant neighbors, and our communities. Senate Bill 76 Immigration Matters would do the following:
Take Action: Redistricting is Undead
(URGENT) Take Action: Call Senator Blake Doriot and Representative Joanna King and ask them to oppose redistricting.
Last week it looked like the Republican effort to gerrymander Indiana was dead, but this week it has been revived. In the face of attacks from their fellow Republicans, the Indiana House and Senate leadership have backtracked on their plans to adjourn until January. The House will convene on December 1, and already has sufficient votes to pass new maps. The Senate previously did not have the votes to pass it, but it was announced this week that the Senate leadership has reversed itself and will convene on December 8 to consider the maps that the House plans to pass next week.
