Join us at the Indiana Statehouse on Jan 27

The Indiana Senate is working on a bill that would have extremely negative consequences for Indiana’s educational institutions, law enforcement, our immigrant neighbors, and our communities. Senate Bill 76 Immigration Matters would do the following:

(URGENT) Take Action: Call Senator Blake Doriot and Representative Joanna King and ask them to oppose redistricting.
Last week it looked like the Republican effort to gerrymander Indiana was dead, but this week it has been revived. In the face of attacks from their fellow Republicans, the Indiana House and Senate leadership have backtracked on their plans to adjourn until January. The House will convene on December 1, and already has sufficient votes to pass new maps. The Senate previously did not have the votes to pass it, but it was announced this week that the Senate leadership has reversed itself and will convene on December 8 to consider the maps that the House plans to pass next week.

The Trump administration and Governor Braun are putting pressure on the Indiana legislature to redraw congressional district lines before next year’s midterm election to eliminate the last two Democratic-leaning districts in the state. The new legislative session is being called early for this purpose, beginning on December 1, and they are actively whipping Republican votes for this right now. This is not a done deal yet, and many Republicans are still on the fence, so now is the time for you to contact your state legislators and ask them to oppose efforts to redistrict.

We are encouraging everyone to join us on November 12, 5:30 pm at The Goshen Theater for this important nonpartisan event.

Yesterday morning, about 90 community members came together for our Goshen Call to Action meeting at Rogers Park Pavilion. We built on the incredible momentum from July 14, when 230 people from across the political spectrum rallied at Shanklin Park to defend what makes Goshen a diverse, welcoming, and forward-thinking community.
