Join us at the Indiana Statehouse on Jan 27

January 20, 2026

Letters, emails, and phone calls matter. But sometimes the strongest statement is showing up in person.

On Tuesday, January 27, Goshen residents are heading to Indianapolis to meet directly with our state legislators. We’ll be meeting with Representative Joanna King and Senator Blake Doriot to share personal letters urging them to pursue long-term property tax solutions that don’t take funding from cities, counties, public schools, or public libraries.

We’ll also meet with Senate Minority Leader Senator Shelli Yoder to thank her for her leadership and encourage continued advocacy for our communities.

A Cardinal bus has been arranged with room for 56 riders. For those who are able, we are asking for a $40 donation to help cover costs, and additional donations will help make space for Goshen College and Goshen High School students. Please RSVP and get your tickets here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/indybus2026  If you would like to join us but aren’t able to make a donation at this time, or if you would prefer to write a check, please RSVP by emailing goshencalltoaction@gmail.com.  If you are unable to join us but would like to make a donation to enable others to attend, you can do that at our regular ActBlue link here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/goshen-city-democratic-party-1

We will depart from the parking lot behind the Presbyterian Church at 215 E Lincoln Ave in Goshen. Plan to board the bus at 8AM for an 8:15AM departure.  Donuts will be provided on the ride down; lunch will be on your own after arrival; sandwiches will be provided on the ride home; and we aim to be back in Goshen before 7PM.

We’re asking everyone to wear their Be the Good in Goshen t-shirts. If you don’t have one yet, we will have extras available at no cost to riders while supplies and sizes last.

This trip is organized by the Goshen City Democratic Party. Whether you join us on the bus or support us from home, thank you for caring about Goshen and being part of this work.

Let’s show up together!
