Fair Week By the Numbers

What an amazing fair parade on Sunday! One hundred and ten people walked, drove, or rode for the Democrats in the Elkhart County 4H Fair Parade! Thirteen candidates were part of that group:

• Emily Yaw, Indiana House, District 48
• Megan Graham, Elkhart County Clerk
• Nora Chaves Morales, Elkhart County Trustee
• Kevin Peters, Elkhart County Council, District 3
• John Brewer, Elkhart County Council, District 2
• Cindy Hines, Concord Township Trustee
• Howard Turner, Concord Township Board
• Alex McBride, Harrison Township Board
• Loanne Harms, Goshen School Board, At-large
• Cynthia Murphy, Goshen School Board, District 3

The Fair Parade Committee included seven amazing and hardworking volunteers: Kevin Peters, Jennifer Shell, Angie Wentz, Michael Stellingwerf, Cynthia Miller, Savannah Diezel, and Rachael Mercado.

The Elkhart County Democrats’ contingent included four vehicles: a beautiful float and three pick-up trucks covered in candidates’ signs. Jamee Decio followed as a separate entry with a pick-up truck and convertible. Marchers carried three banners at the front of our unit: Elkhart County Democrats, Goshen City Democrats, and Kosciusko County Democrats.

More than twenty-five volunteers staffed the Democratic Booth in Building F over the nine days of the fair. Most of our interactions were friendly dialogues with our neighbors wanting to learn about our candidates. A highlight of the week was when Beau Bayh stopped by briefly on Friday evening. Thanks to all of the candidates who took time to meet and listen to their constituents!
