We invite Goshen City Democrats and friends and allies of immigrants to join us on Tuesday, Feb. 17  at 6:30 p.m. at the Goshen Theater to learn about local immigration issues.

How have changes in U.S. immigration policies and enforcement affected Elkhart County’s immigrant
community? How have their lives changed? And what’s being done to meet their critical needs?
These and related issues will be discussed at a Feb. 17, 2026 meeting at the Goshen Theater sponsored
and paid for by the Goshen City Democratic Party.

Speakers will include:

  • Goshen College students
  • David Maldonado, Pastor for Community Outreach at College Mennonite Church
  • Jean Renel Momperousse, an Elkhart County resident and U.S citizen who grew up in Haiti
  • Rafael Barahona, co-owner of Goshen design agency and immediate past chair of the Goshen
    Chamber of Commerce
  • Felipe Merino, an immigration and criminal defense attorney.
  • Lisa Koop, National Director of Legal Services, National Immigrant Justice Center
  • Jane Ross Richer, Immigrant Resource Coordinator, Center for Healing & Hope
