Living just outside of city limits, Kevin Peters was frustrated by the lack of candidates on the local ballot. Kevin believes active engagement is essential to our democratic process. Whether it’s going to community events or stepping up and running for office. Kevin chose to get involved to help inspire greater civic engagement and to show our community that there are people wanting to help build a better tomorrow for Elkhart County.

The County Council position plays an important role in the community, from creating the budget for local roads to appointing members to influential boards handling zoning, development and local libraries. Kevin believes the county needs more progressive voices for these critical decisions. As a council member, Kevin will advocate for improved local services, cleaner and more efficient infrastructure, and a local government that works for the people, not large businesses.
